Ramiz Raja believes that India-Pakistan bilateral cricket is a political game. PCB chairman stated that it would be unfortunate if 2-3 cricketers who are board presidents or chairmen could not resume bilateral cricket with their respective countries after resigning from their positions.
I’ve had conversations with Sourav Ganguly on the sidelines, and he has his concerns, unfortunately. Since their white-ball series in 2012–2013, Pakistan and India have only met at ICC events. PCB brought up the issue on various platforms but didn’t get a favorable response because of political interference.
Ramiz Raja has revealed that he did not accept the BCCI’s invitation to play in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) because of pressure from cricket fans. Ramiz: I thought if I went there, fans would be spared, and I didn’t want to disappoint them.
He also said that accepting the invitation could lead to the resumption of bilateral cricket with Sri Lanka.
