Meta Apprises Pakistani Journalists Regarding its Approach to Data Privacy

Facebook parent company Meta organized a media briefing session on its approach to privacy for Pakistani journalists. Arianne Jimenez, Privacy Policy Manager at Meta in Asia Pacific, briefed the journalists about the social media company’s policies to protect user data and information safety on its platforms.

Social media company Meta is committed to giving people more control over their privacy. Privacy checkup, Manage Activity, Audience Selector Tool, Who can look me up? and the Privacy Center are just some of the privacy tools it offers itsĀ  users.

The privacy center is an educational surface for Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger that provides helpful in-depth information on privacy. Meta offers Ad Preferences to let people take control of their preferences based on profile information and activities on Facebook and Websites or apps used off-Facebook.

Meta tools help people adjust their preferences by clicking on any ad or post on their News Feed. Meta designs privacy controls into its products with guidance from experts in areas like data protection and privacy law, security, interface design, engineering, product management, and public policy.

Meta gives people more control and choice over their data. The company doesn’t sell any user information to anyone. Partners and third parties who have access to certain data are required to follow rules about how they can use and disclose the information Meta provides. It will continue to invest in privacy and security.
